While Priyanka neglects Pitroda's comment, Sikh Community reminds her with ‘hua toh hua’ posters during roadshow

Pathankot, May 15: Taking the Anti-Sikh Riots of 1984 lightly, the Congress just tried to wash away and get away with the statement made by Overseas Congress Chief Sam Pitroda. Agitated over his statement of ‘hua toh hua’ on the Anti-Sikh Riots, a section of Sikh Community as a sign of protest showed posters reading 'hua toh hua' during Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's roadshow in Pathankot.

 

Sam Pitroda, while commenting on 1984 anti-Sikh riots , "It happened in 1984, so what? (1984 hua toh hua)." The Anti Sikh riots of 1984 still remains fresh as the cruelty and inhuman attitude of the Congress dynasty came into limelight. Congress chief Rahul Gandhi had said that Pitroda should apologise to the nation for his “shameful” remarks.

It is a common notion when you are campaigning for elections, you usually grab the pulse of the voters by targeting on their demands. But here, Priyanka Gandhi was busy popularising her brother’s ‘sachai ki rajneeti’ instead of being regretful about Pitroda’s comment.

Hitting out at Priyanka, Union Cabinet Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal tweeted, "Instead of apologising for party & family role in #1984SikhGenocide & attack on Sri Harmandar Sahib, #PriyankaGandhi chose to speak abt sachai ki rajneeti of @RahulGandhi. Strange sachai which allows Cong to justify '84 with "hua to hua" & forbids regret for mass killing of Sikhs."

 

Congress chief Rahul Gandhi had said that Pitroda should apologise to the nation for his “shameful” remarks. "What Sam Pitroda said on the 1984 riots was wrong. I called him and have told him to apologize. I have told him it has to be a public apology," Gandhi had said at an election rally in Khanna town.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had yesterday intensified his attack on the Congress over the issue, saying Rahul Gandhi should be ashamed of himself rather than reprimanding Sam Pitroda for his remarks. The 1984 anti-Sikh riots is a highly-sensitive issue for people of Punjab.
