‘Lokpal’ is now ‘Digital’: Website of Lokpal Inaugurated

New Delhi, May 16: Lokpal, Independent India’s first body investigating into allegations of corruptions, debuted today in digital world. The official website of the Lokpal was inaugurated by the Chairperson Justice Shri Pinaki Chandra Ghose in presence of all members of Lokpal today.


 

The Director General of the National Informatics Centre Smt. Neeta Verma was present on the occasion. The website of Lokpal can be accessed at http://lokpal.gov.in.

The website consists of all important information such as organizational structure of Lokpal, jurisdictions and functions, The Lokpal and Lokayukt Act 2013 and other relevant acts, complaint statistics and so on. It is designed by National Informatics Centre of the government of India.

Lokpal has announced a Competition for Logo and Slogan for the website. The competition is open to all and interested parties can submit their designs for either logo or motto/slogan or both by 13th June 2019.

The Lokpal is the first institution of its kind in independent India which is established under the Lokpal and Lokayuktas Act, 2013 to inquire and investigate into allegations of the corruption against public functionaries who fall within the scope and ambit of the above act. Shri Pinaki Chandra Ghose is the first Chairperson of the Lokpal who was administered oath on 23rd March, 2019 by the President of India.

Lokpal consists of four judicial and four non-judicial members. The office of Lokpal is temporarily functioning from Hotel Ashok, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi.
