India to Strengthen Relations with Botswana

New Delhi, May 16: India held deliberations with Botswana on Wednesday reviewing the entire gamut of bilateral relations including economic, political, commercial, defense, consular, and international co-operation in New Delhi yesterday. It was the third round of Foreign Office Consultations between India and Botswana.



Both Nations discussed on ways to further strengthen the existing friendly relations by way of expanding co-operation in development projects. Botswana conveyed their decision to join the International Solar Alliance (ISA) by signing the Framework agreement at the earliest.

Both sides expressed satisfaction on the level of political exchanges and the current excellent state of relationship and co-operation. It was decided to convene next Round of Consultations in Botswana on mutually agreed dates.

Dr. Neena Malhotra, Joint Secretory, East and Southern Africa in the Ministry of External Affairs led the Indian Side while Tapiwa Mongwa, Deputy Permanent Secretory in the Ministry of International Affairs and Co-operation of Botswana Government headed the Botswana side.

Secretory(ER), sh. T.S. Tirumurti hosted a lunch in honor of the visiting dignitary.
