In an intense encounter, Security forces gun down three JeM terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir

Pulwama, May 16: In a fierce encounter that broke out in Dalipora area of Jammu and Kashmir, the security forces gunned down three terrorists. The encounter took place on Thursday morning in J&K’s Pulwama district.

Based on a tip-off, troops of the Rashtriya Rifles (RR), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the state police started a cordon and search operation in Dalipora village when the terrorists fired at them, leading to the encounter.

"The militants fired at the security forces which triggered the ongoing gunfight," the police said. The police informed that the three terrorists were affiliated with proscribed terror outfit JeM killed. Identified as Naseer Pandith, Umar Mir & one Pakistani terrorist Khalid.

Two more soldiers and a civilian were injured who were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. The two terrorists are holed up in a house. The official authorities have suspended mobile internet services in the district so as to prevent uploading of inflammatory pictures and posts. 

Curfew has been imposed in Pulwama following the encounter. An army jawan was martyred during the encounter this morning.
