New Delhi, May 16: An opportunity to understand the Taiwanese culture, technology etc. more, Taiwan Expo 2019. It has begun in New Delhi today. There are 10 theme pavilions at the expo focusing on green products, health care, agriculture, tourism, biotechnology and electrical equipment. 150 exhibitors are showcasing their products in 230 stalls.

 

A representative of Taipei Economic and Cultural Centre Tien Chung-Kwang and Chairman of Taiwan External Trade Development Council, TAITRA James CF Huang inaugurated the three-day event in the presence of Joint Secretary Praveen Bonigala and ITPO Chairman LC Goyal.

An official release said, around 30 thousand people are expected to visit the expo this year and potential business is likely to touch 150 million dollars.

 

With the core missions like:

To assist Taiwanese businesses in developing the international market.

To collaborate closely with the Taiwanese government in trade policy implementation.

To provide business consultation service and connect international firms with Taiwanese partners.

To assume the role of “Smart Integrator” - complement government policies, facilitate industry needs and develop new business opportunities around the world

Taiwan Expo 2019 aims to have better relations with India and also, create more awareness about Tourism and Culture aspects of Taiwan.

 

Taiwan- India bilateral trade volume reached USD 7 billion last year, an 11% growth over 2017. Notwithstanding the trade war waging between major powers, Taiwan is hopeful of maintaining the growth momentum going forward as well.

The expo is open between 10 AM to 6 PM and the entry is free.
