New ray of hope! Maharashtra Cabinet decides to around SEBC Reservation Act 2018

Mumbai, May 17: The issue of reservations in PG courses is one of the burning topics today in India. In this regard, giving hope to medical aspirants of Maharashtra, Maharashtra Cabinet issued an ordinance to amend SEBC Act 2018 in order to give more protection to candidates in postgraduate medical admission.


Along with this decision, the cabinet also decided to compensate the fees to the affected candidates in private colleges. This decision from cabinet derived after the state government received permission from ECI to circulate an ordinance for Maratha reservation in PG medical courses.

On this issue, the Maharashtra government had made a special request to ECI, saying this would be a major issue in the coming elections in the state.
