New Delhi, May 18: After wrapping up the hectic campaigning schedule of the Lok Sabha Elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached the abode of Lord Shiva, Kedarnath today. Along with offering prayers at the shrine, PM Modi also reviewed the status of ongoing developmental work at Kedarnath. In order to attain peace, PM Modi meditated in a holy cave near Kedarnath.

Dressed in saffron robes, PM Modi can be seen meditating in a cave which is not a new thing for him because of this the root link of his life’s base. Unlike the other politicians who wait to enjoy vacations in abroad, on beaches or on warships as soon as the political works get over, PM Modi chose to get attached to his link with the universe via spirituality.

Coming across the past pages of Modi Yatra, He lived like a monk for nearly 2 years in the Himalayas, wake up during Brahma Mahurat, between 3 and 3:45 am and take a bath in the freezing waters of the Himalayas, but still feel the warmth. He learnt to align himself with the rhythm of the Universe. Travelling for a long time in the snow-clad and the ultimate source of spirituality ‘Himalayas’, PM Modi experienced revelations that help him till today. He realized that we're all tied down by our thoughts and limitations. When you surrender and stand in front of the vastness, you know that you're a small part of a large universe. When you understand that, any trace of arrogance you have in you melts and then life truly begins."

That's when it all changed. After two years, he returned home with clarity and a guiding force to lead the way.

Also, at a young age, he went to Belur Math in 1967, lived an ascetic life. There he met Swami Madhavananda.

He firmly believes that India’s spirituality is its strength. But, some people link spirituality to religion. Spirituality and religion are different. With this thought even today he remains clear like a lotus which though grows in muddy areas but blooms purely.
