Kolkata, May 24: Dominating the state with her Hitler style of rule, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee tried hard to pull away people from the Modi wave. But sadly, she was not succeeded as people had made their choices clear. Flaring its surge, BJP raced towards an impressive score, closing the gap fast with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress. Heading with 18 seats, BJP gave a tough fight to Trinamool Congress which stands at 22.

Breaching Mamata’s stronghold ‘West Bengal’

Ruling with violence, indulging in political killing, demeaning democracy at each and every level, CM Mamata Banerjee made it clear that she was not worth the post she acquires. But the performance of BJP shows the party has been able to make inroads in the state over the past few years. From a meagre 17%, the BJP's vote share has jumped over 40%, one that has seen a huge share of vote transfer from the Left to the BJP.

Comparing the 2014 elections, the BJP had won just two seats in the state. Since then, the party campaigned hard in what appeared to be an unbreachable Trinamool fortress. Over the past two years, the BJP's efforts on the ground saw multiple confrontations with the state government. It was especially over rallies and marches held on religious events, and chants of "Jai Shri Ram". The chants however triggered a bout of anger in Mamata Banerjee who publicly opposed it creating another streak of violence.

Blowing conch shell of victory:

Prominent BJP candidates who have won are Bengal BJP president Dilip Ghosh, Union ministers Babul Supriyo and SS Ahluwalia. While Babul Supriyo won the high profile contest in Asansol against TMC's Moonmoon Sen with a 51% vote share. Dilip Ghosh won from Medinipur with a margin of over 87,000 votes. The party has won Darjeeling, Alipurduar, Jalpaiguri, Coochbehar, Raiganj, Balurghat, Malda North, Ranaghat, Bongaon, Barrackpore, Hooghly, Bankura, Bishnupur, Purulia, Jhargram, Medinipur, Asansol, Bardhaman-Durgapur.

Heading towards making majority:

With the current scenario of opening a commendable account with increased tally in West Bengal, BJP will surely pump up its campaign in the 2021 assembly elections. Last evening while addressing BJP workers after the party's big win in the national election, BJP president Amit Shah said, "Today's result shows that BJP will form a state government in West Bengal."

With a phenomenal electoral victory, the BJP has clearly won hearts of the masses by proving true on all the expectations. Bowing to the people’s mandate, Prime Minister Modi has promised to work with utmost dedication and zeal by bringing growth and prosperity.
