Indians are lucky to have Narendra Modi, says Donald Trump

New Delhi, May 25: While lauding PM Modi for achieving the milestone of becoming Prime Minister for the second time, US president Donald Trump the people of India "are lucky to have" Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whom he went on to describe as a "great man and leader".

 

Trump wrote on Twitter, "Just spoke to Prime Minister @NarendraModi where I congratulated him on his big political victory. He is a great man and leader for the people of India - they are lucky to have him!”

US President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi Friday agreed to meet at the G-20 Summit in Japan next month as both the leaders pledged to further strengthen the US-India strategic partnership and build on the achievements of the last two years.

Donald Trump telephoned PM Modi to congratulate him on the historic electoral victory in the Lok Sabha polls, the White House said.

 

Also, in a tweet, President Trump said, “Congratulations to Prime Minister @NarendraModi and his BJP party on their BIG election victory! Great things are in store for the US-India partnership with the return of PM Modi at the helm. I look forward to continuing our important work together!”
