New Delhi, May 28: Surviving the bullying fire attack in Surat that anyhow managed to kill the courage of 20 small chaps attending the coaching centres, the incident has not only been an eye-opener within the city, or in Gujarat, but the nation at large.
Following the similar fire attacks in Maharashtra’s Mumbai, Madhya Pradesh’s Indore and New Delhi today morning, the Delhi Government is up taking stock of the areas where negligence is seen. A blaze burst out in a light bulb manufacturing factory at Udyog Nagar in Peera Garhi area has made the state government to look into the fire audit matters abide the capital.
With no casualties recorded yet, the fire in the above mentioned areas got controlled easy. "We've identified areas where negligence has been seen. After fire at a hotel in Paharganj earlier this year, notices were served to many guest houses", said CFO Delhi Fire Service adding that the Delhi government has ordered to inspect whether fire safety norms are being followed at coaching centres.
“Several coaching centres are being run from buildings in Laxmi Nagar in East Delhi that have only one entry and exit point, electricity meters placed at the entrance and exposed wiring on the outside”, he added.
This being a warning bell for all the other states, it becomes significant to look into the fire safety norms and aligned audits which will aid in shielding several lives of illegal structures.
