New York, May 7: Indian styling divas Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukon on Tuesday left their fan base stun by the elegance they suited up for the Met Gala event this year. The red carpet face off of the Costume Institute Gala held at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art annually, kicked off yesterday.

On the other hand, Deepika Padukone who opted for a Zac Posen custom metallic pink gown, took a bold step this year exaggerating her make over than the attire. Deepika finished out her look with eye make-up complete with glitters, matching for a high puffed ponytail. Priyanka's team of hairstylists finished out her look with afro curls crowned with silver crest.
Institute Gala is a major fundraising benefit that serves as an opening celebration for the Institute's annual fashion exhibit. Each year the event has a theme, and includes a cocktail hour and a formal dinner. During the cocktail hour, guests arrive to walk on the red carpet, tour the year's special themed exhibition, and be seated before the dinner party that includes entertainment from the preeminent entertainers of the day.

This year the Met gala is based on Notes on Camp, an essay written in 1964 by American author Susan Sontag and the theme is called ‘Camp-Notes on Fashion’. "Camp is by nature subversive confronting and challenging the status quo... In the end, the purpose of camp is to put a smile on our faces and a warm glow in our hearts”, the Costume Institute's head curator Andrew Bolton of the Metropolitan Museum of Art said.
