Collaborating to tribute the legend! India, Bangladesh join hands to make a film on Sheikh Mujibur Rahman

New Delhi, May 8: Although India and Bangladesh are separated with geographical boundaries, the countries share a lot of cultural, historic and social background. Sharing years of close partnership of various socioeconomic spectrum, the strings of commonness is very much intact. Continuing the close knitted relation, India and Bangladesh have joined hands to enter yet another spectrum of close bond.

With one vision and a common aim, India and Bangladesh come together to produce a feature film on the life and works of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Interestingly the movie will be directed by filmmaker Shyam Benegal. The film is to be directed by veteran filmmaker Shyam Benegal and his long-time associate Atul Tiwari, will be writing the script of the movie.

This feature film is a tribute to the legendary personality. With this, Bangladesh and India have entered a joint venture to produce a feature film on the life of Sheikh Mujibur Rehman and a documentary on war of liberation of Bangladesh.

Under the leadership of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, India had played an important role in the war of liberation of Bangladesh. Renowned as Bangabandhu, the people in Bangladesh admire him as the Father of the Nation.

The Bangladeshi delegation met Information and Broadcasting Ministry Secretary Amit Khare. The meeting focussed on various aspects of making the feature film on the founder of Bangladesh, co-production of which had earlier been announced by the prime ministers of both countries.

The erstwhile Bengal was divided in East and West Bengal in 1905 and the East Bengal would later become Modern day Bangladesh post-1971. But even though geographical boundaries were drawn over the last century, people across the border still fondly remember famous places and eminent personalities of Bengal on both the sides and keep tracing common social ties.
