Single-minded pursuit for growth, PM Modi focuses to open banking and insurance sectors for FDI

New Delhi, June 24: Viewing to speed the disinvestment process and management of water resources, PM Narendra Modi, ahead of the General Budget session, met the economic experts discussing the ‘Economic Policy – The road ahead’. A more than 40 economists were diligently heard in an interactive session organized by NITI Aayog.
 
 
Divided into five major distinct groups, the professionals shared their views on the economic themes of macro-economy and employment, agriculture and water resources, exports, education, and health.
 
In his intervention, the Prime Minister thanked various participants for their suggestions and observations, on various aspects of the economy. Meanwhile, tweeting in relation, Modi said that he had a fruitful interaction with economists and other experts. "The inputs received were insightful and will benefit our growth trajectory”, he added.
 
Niti Aayog, the government think-tank however termed the session as lively, vibrant and constructive where extremely positive discussions took place. The meeting was also attended by Piyush Goyal, Vice Chairman NITI Aayog, Rajiv Kumar and senior officers and delegates.
 
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will be presenting the full Budget for 2019-20 on July 5 in the Lok Sabha. It will be the first full Budget of the Modi 2.0 government.
