New Delhi, June 25: The BJP on Tuesday cancelled its parliamentary party meeting on Tuesday due to the death of party Rajya Sabha MP Madan Lal Saini. The meeting, which was scheduled early morning on Tuesday, was the first meeting of all BJP MPs alone after 2019 polls.

BJP's Rajasthan chief Saini breathed last on Monday evening due to a lung infection. Following this the Rajya Sabha headed by Vice President M Venkhaiah Naidu also adjourned the morning session saying that the veteran’s death is a major loss for the BJP family.

Saddened by the sudden demise of Saini, Naidu extended his grief saying, “In his extensive public life as an MP, MLA and State BJP President in Rajasthan, he served with distinction. My profound condolences to bereaved family members and followers. May his soul rest in peace”.

Meanwhile Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded his contribution to strengthen the Party in Rajasthan. “He was widely respected for his congenial nature and community service efforts. My thoughts are with his family and supporters. Om Shanti”, he added.
Further paying condolences to Saini’s family and well-wishers, President Ram Nath Kovind said, “A veteran in public life, he remained committed to serving those at the grassroots”.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot also extended his support to Madan Lal's family saying, "My thoughts and prayers are with his family members. May God give them the strength to bear this loss. May his soul rest in peace”.
