Virat Scales New Mountain! Becomes Fastest Batsman to Score 20,000 International Runs

New Delhi, June 28: Eclipsing batting legends Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara, India’s ‘captain the great’ Virat Kohli has set a world record by becoming the fastest batsman to reach 20000 international runs. Virat has become the 12th batsman and third Indian after Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid to reach 20000 international runs.

 
Prior to the match played between India and West Indies yesterday, Virat was just 37 runs short of the milestone and reached the feat with a single off in the 25th over of India’s inning. Virat reached the milestone in only his 417th international innings. 
 
Tendulkar and Lara took 453 innings each to reach this target while Ricky Ponting took 468 innings. Kohli has already set a record of becoming the fastest batsman to score 11000 ODI runs recently during his knot against Pakistan. In the yesterday’s match Kohli scored his fourth successive half-century that made him the only third captain in the history of the world-cup to register four consecutive 50+ scores.
