Adding essence of bhakti from Karnataka, Ayodhya unveils 7 feet high Lord Ram's statue

Ayodhya, June 7: Adding more essence of bhakti from Karnataka, the birthplace of Lord Rama Ayodhya unveiled seven feet in height wooden Idol of Lord Ram at Tulsi Upawan today. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath unveiled the idol while on the visit to Ayodhya today and where he took part in various programmes. This Idol is brought from Karnataka. Lord Ram's world’s highest Idol is yet to be set up at River Saryu bank in future.

 

The statue, made of a single block of rosewood and purchased for Rs 35 lakh from Karnataka, will be on display at the museum. The statue will depict Kodamb Ram -- one of the five avatars of Lord Ram. Though the museum has over 2,500 artefacts related to Lord Ram and his life, it did not have any piece depicting Kodamb Ram.

Kodamb Ram, on the other hand, is worshipped in the south and depicts the stage of Ram's life when Sita was kidnapped by the demon king Ravan. The statues from that phase of Ram's life show Ram alone, without Sita and Laxman.

While speaking on the occasion, CM Yogi Adityanath said, “Under the leadership of respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi India is emerging as a superpower and is also weaving the path of the world and the Welfare of mankind.”

 

“The rapid pace with which India has progressed during the last five years, the development drive is giving India global recognition in every sphere. There is a sense of respect for India in the minds of the world today,” CM Adityanath said.

He also said that there is no place for discrimination in Indian society. The idea of ' one Bharat Shreshtha Bharat ' has been completed by the celebration of Kumbh
