New Delhi, July 1: Ought to be one of the historic moments in the history of parliamentarian sessions, all parties in one voice asserted its approval on extending President’s rule in Jammu and Kashmir. Home Minister Amit Shah in his speech on Tuesday in Rajya Sabha thanked all parties for agreeing that J&K is an integral part of India. This is definitely a major slap on the separatists who advocate dialogues of partition and impose hatred among the masses.

While speaking in Rajya Sabha, Home Minister Amit Shah said that J&K is an integral part of India and no one can take it away from us. Secondly, the Narendra Modi government is going to stand by its zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism. And thirdly, the government wants to develop the state of Jammu and Kashmir with inclusive development of Kashmir, Jammu as well as Ladakh. Highlighting former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajapayee’s vision, Amit Shah said that they will take the state forward with the policy of ‘Insaniyat’, ‘Jamhooriyat’ and ‘Kashmiriyat’.

Explaining the reason why Assembly elections were not conducted in the state was because the number of seats in Lok Sabha were less, and as a result candidate are less. Circumstances in the state are not so conducive that security arrangements could have been given to each candidate who is campaigning in the villages and towns and districts of the state.

Ripping off the opposition, Amit Shah said, “I want to tell TMC MP Derek O'Brein that the Home Ministry issues advisory in case there is a threat to democracy. Hence an MHA advisory was issued to the TMC government in West Bengal over the political killings of party workers.” On NRC, the Home Minister sternly asserted that India does not stand by intruders coming to its land and taking away the jobs of their citizens. The citizens of this country will get their papers duly.

Taking a sly dig at the opposition questioning the surgical strike, Amit Shah said that they do not oppose surgical strike to be taken place earlier (as the opposition declared during election campaign) but there was a difference in the way their govt fought to eliminate the root cause of terrorism.

He further added that the Narendra Modi government chopped branches of terrorism that had spread its roots in the Valley. Many top terrorists were eliminated. The Army cracked down on several terror organisations brimming in the state. Cross-border terror funding was also curtailed. In a message to the people of Valley, Shah said that they should not let hardliners influence them; on the one hand they ask you to boycott schools, on the other hand, their own children are studying in international universities.

Highlighting the development, Shah stated, 80% of the 80,000 crore allocated for the development of Jammu and Kashmir have been spent on bettering the infrastructure of the state. Schools, universities, AIIMS, roads, etc have been made in the state and the govt is also getting Ayushman Bharat and Swachh Bharat Yojana to the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
