Extolling the Task Force counsel over preventing ammunition accidents, Rajnath Singh directs to expedite implementation

New Delhi, July 10: Viewing to evolve the methodology to prevent ammunition accidents, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday chaired the meeting with the Task Force experts in the national capital, further reviewing their recommendations to minimise the aligning effects.

 
Singh, during the meeting emphasised that the safety of the soldiers and the common people were of paramount importance and lauded the efforts of DRDO which had come up with several scientifically designed ammunition storehouses, that would prevent loss of life, even if accidents take place.
According to the official statement, the recommendations of the Task Force were appreciated by the Defence Minister who gave directions to expedite implementation. The Task Force Chairman, Lt Gen (Retd) Philip Campose meanwhile explained the causes for ammunition accidents and brought out preventive and mitigative measures.
 
The Task Force was constituted by Chairman DRDO, Dr G Satheesh Reddy, headed by Lt Gen Philip Campose, former Vice Chief of Army Staff and members from the Services, Ordnance Factory Board, DGQA and DRDO.
