Divided by border not by heart; Indian Army sets example of humanity by handing over dead body of a PAKISTANI boy

Srinagar, July 11: This incident was the best example that irrespective of which country a person belongs to, Our Indian Army respects humanity and considers each life precious. On Tuesday, a dead body was recovered from the Burzil Nala close to Line of Control near Acchura village. The Indian Army immediately swung into action and was able to establish the identity of the young boy through civil administration as a seven-year-old Abid Ahmad Sheikh resident of Minimarg across the Line of Control in Gilgit region.

 

The young Abid was missing since Monday and is likely to have slipped into Burzil Nala. In accordance with Indian Army ethos, as a humanitarian gesture, Indian Army established contact with Pakistan Army on hot line and also convinced the civil administration to facilitate handing over of the dead body at the earliest.

The local religious head and village elders were taken into confidence to support the noble gesture of handing over the dead body to the family of the deceased young boy at the earliest. Accordingly, today the dead body has been handed over to Pakistan Army, near Village Dudhgai.

 

It was unfortunate to note that three attempts were made to hand over the dead body of the drowned boy from Achoora and Chorwan village Gurez from Indian side but Pak army refused to take the body from both villages.
