2 Maoists killed in an encounter with police in Chhattisgarh

Raipur, July 15: In Chhattisgarh, two Maoists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Dantewada district on Sunday. The exchange of fire between District Reserve Guard - DRG and Maoists took place in Kirandul area of the district this morning. Sources said the team of DRG recovered the bodies of Maoists along with two weapons from the spot. Both Maoists had a reward of 5 lakh rupees each on their head. Police said they have also arrested one Maoist from the place of encounter.


 

Recently, a hardcore Maoist was killed in an encounter with security forces on Friday. The gunfight between District Reserve Guard and Maoists took place at Dabba forest in Dantewada district. Police recovered the body of Maoist and a rifle from the spot.

The killed Maoist was carrying a reward of 5 lakh rupees on his head. According to police officials, he was involved in the attack in which BJP MLA Bhima Mandavi was killed during recent Lok Sabha elections.
