Vigilant and alert as ever; BSF gun down Pakistani intruder sneaking in Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar, July 15: Known for their vigilance and strict action on intruders, the Border Security Force has beefed up its forces in ensuring safety and security of the country. In a remarkable instance of vigilance and alertness slated by the Border Security Force on Monday during the wee hours saw them shooting down a Pakistani intruder entering Indian border. The man was shot after he ignored numerous warnings by the security force.

 

The Pakistani intruder was shot dead when he crossed into the Indian Territory in Ramgarh sector of Samba district. According to police, the deceased, 60, was trying to cross the international border and sneaked into the Indian side in Ramgarh sector around 3 am. Further details are awaited as the body was kept at S M Pura border post.

The officials said the intruder was gunned down by the BSF men of 62 Battalion near the fence after he ignored repeated warnings to surrender. The body was kept at SM Pura border post, they said, adding that a probe into the matter was underway.

Army chief Bipin Rawat on Saturday, while addressing a seminar on 20 years after Kargil conflict in a warning to Pakistan over its misadventure, said let there be no doubt that such acts will be repelled with a punitive response. Pakistan army time and again resorts to misadventure either through flawed proxy wars and state sponsored terror or intrusions. Indian Army stands resolute to defend our territory.

He also added that the Indian soldiers are and will remain our primary assets.
