‘Silver Day’ for India: Four Indian Boxers Win Silver at Vojvodina International Tournament

Vojvodina, July 15: Showcasing their excellence, India’s young boxing legends won four silver medals and a bronze at the 37th Golden Glove of Vojvodina International boxing tournament held in Serbia.

 
India’s silver medal winners are Seloy Soy (49kg), Bilotson L. Singh (56kg), Ajay Kumar (60kg) and Vijaydeep (69kg). In the final bouts Soy lost 0-5 to Omer Ametovic while singh was beaten by Boris Karibian of Russia. Kumar was also beaten 0-5 by Croat Diego Mamic. Vijaydeep, on the other hand, went down 2-3 to Kazakastan’s Azamat Bektas. Earlier in the semifinal, Harsh Gill (91kg) lost to Turkey’s Topaloglu Abuzer to settle for a bronze medal.
