Today is the 18th death anniversary of veteran Indian politician and former leader of Bharatiya Jana Sangh and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jagannathrao Joshi who has made an unforgettable contribution in building concrete walls of the party. He was one of the tallest national political leaders of the RSS Parivar and a well-respected orator who devoted his life in Goa Liberation Movement. His contribution to building the BJS and BJP in Karnataka earned him the tag ‘Karnataka Kesari’. 
Born in 1920, Joshi completed his matriculation from Nutan Marathi Vidyalaya, Pune and graduation in English Hons from S. P. College. Joshi began his political career with the Jana Sangh in Pune as since childhood he was highly influenced by the RSS. He was elected to Lok Sabha continuously for two terms in 1967 and 1971 from Bhopal and Shajapur constituencies of Madhya Pradesh. Joshi served as a Member of the Rajya Sabha from 1978 to 1894. Jagannathrao Joshi was a classic orator who could deliver inpeccable political speechess in different Indian languages.
