Udupi, July 16: On the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met his beloved Spiritual Guru Vishvesha Teertha Swami of Udupi, Karnataka. The Prime Minister shared his ‘humbling experience’ through tweeter.
“On the blessed occasion of Guru Purnima, had the honor of spending time with Sri Vishvesha Teerth Swamiji of the Sri Pejawara Matha, Udupi. Learning from him and hearing his thoughts is a very humbling experience,” said the Prime Minister in his tweet. 
 
Swami Vishvesha Teertha is the current presiding Swamiji of the Pejavara Adokshaja Matha, one of the Ashta Mathas belonging to the Dvaita school of philosophy, founded by Madhvacharya. He is the founder of Poornapraja Vidyapeeth in Bangalore where many scholars are trained on Vedanta. The 88-year old Swamiji is known as the ‘Rashtra Swamiji’ a great social reformer and nationalist. After Narendra Modi’s electoral victory and assumption of office, Swamiji called on him and blessed him to serve the people with courage and compassion.
