New Delhi, July 18: “The legislative, executive and judiciary wings should all fulfil their responsibility to bring a change and give direction to build a New India”, opined Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla while inaugurating an orientation course on parliamentary practices and procedures for IAS officers of 2017 Batch in New Delhi.

Advising the officers to move ahead with an open mind to do justice to the people in an impartial manner, Birla said that the officers selected through a fair competition and they, the MPs were in their position today only because of a democratic system. He further asked the officers to think of the last person of the society, as they perform their duties.
“As part of the Executive wing of democratic system they should be responsible to the people. The officers should make every effort to build a New India”, he added.

Meanwhile enhancing the knowledge and experience of these young officers on Parliamentary practices, Amit Khare of the Ministry Information and Broadcasting said that officers should definitely do what they think and feel to be a right thing.
