Accelerating India’s space dream! ISRO’s Antrix launched 239 satellites in last 3 years

New Delhi, Jul. 25: India’s Space agency ISRO’s Chandrayaan 2 is now furthering towards the moon with all might. ISRO is taking India’s space dream on the next step with its commercial wing. Making a record with dedication and hard work, a total of 239 satellites were launched by ISRO’s Antrix Corporation in the last three years.
 

 
With the launch of 239 satellites, ISRO gathered revenue of Rs. 6, 289 crores. This information was given by Parliament on Wednesday.
 
While answering the question, MoS in the Prime Minister's Office Jitendra Singh said, “The government has already set up NewSpace India Limited (NSIL) under the administrative control of Department of Space (DOS) on March 6, 2019, to commercially exploit the research and development work of Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) centers and constituent units of DOS.
 
MoS Jitendra Singh said the NSIL was set up to meet the ever-increasing demands of the Indian space program and to commercially exploit the emerging global space market.
 
Further, He said, “A total of 239 satellites were commercially launched by Antrix Corporation Limited during the last three years. The total revenue from operations during the last three years is Rs 6289.05 crore”.
