#Karnataka: After successful handling of political crisis, Assembly Speaker announces resignation

Bangalore, July 29: Karnataka Assembly Speaker K. R. Ramesh Kumar, who led the complex political crisis to a desired end, who upheld the utmost dignity of the Constitution in every decision, announced his resignation today.

 
The Speaker announced the resignation after the House adopted the confidence motion moved by Chief Minister B.S.Yediyurappa and passed the Appropriation Bill. He handed over his resignation letter to Deputy Speaker Krishna Reddy.
“During my 14-month long tenure as the Speaker, I worked according to my conscience and in accordance with the Constitution. I have upheld the dignity of office to the best of my ability,” said the Speaker While announcing resignation.
