Amidst IMD alerts of high tide this noon and low tide in the evening, Mumbai opts to resume normal life set

Mumbai, July 3: Getting back to normal life, Mumbaikars on Wednesday opted to run around their busy schedules after the city received 900 millimetres of rain in the last six days, when usually the city receives 2500 mm of rainfall in the entire monsoon season.

 
Today the maximum rainfall in Mumbai was at NSC Worli followed by Colaba, the speed of rains being slow compared to the last two days. The State has also opened the schools and colleges again, though there is a high tide expected by afternoon today.
 
The India Meteorological Department has further predicted a low tide of about 1.58 meter at 6:34 in the evening today while informing that a high tide of about 4.69 meters is expected to flush gallons of water in Mumbai at 12 noon, increasing the waterlogging problem caused by heavy rainfall in the financial capital.
 
The Central Railways meanwhile moved to resume few of its trains reducing the menace of the localities. It also tweeted a list of 77 long-distance trains leaving the metropolis.
In more woes for airlines, the main runway of the Mumbai airport is likely to remain closed for flight operations till Thursday as it will take more time to remove the SpiceJet plane that was stuck partially on the runway on Monday. While this all happens, the city still remains on alert for the high tide winds flowing from the Arabian Sea.
