Feast for Cricket Lovers: BCCI Announces Domestic Schedule for 2019-20 Season

New Delhi, July 4: Cricket lovers have a feast of matches in the coming days as the Board of Control for Cricket of India (BCCI) announced domestic schedule for the 2019-20 season in New Delhi today. It comprises 2036 matches with an addition of 19 games over the last season’s schedule.

 
The IPL auction is usually held in December-January. The country’s premier national T20 tournament, Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, will be held before the IPL players’ auction. The tournament will run from November 8 to December 1.  
The new mega schedule will get underway with the Duleep Trophy in August which will be followed by Vijay Hazare 50-over Trophy, Deodhar Trophy, Ranji Trophy and Irani Trophy. The format of the Duleep Trophy mostly remains similar to the last season wherein the top team that qualifies for quarter-finals from the Plate Group will be promoted to Elite Group C in the next season. The top two teams that qualify for quarter-finals from Elite Group C will be promoted to Elite Group A and Elite Group B in the next season. 
 
The senior women’s domestic season will be commenced with the T20 league that is scheduled to start in the month of October. The Col C. K. Nayudu Trophy, Vinoo Mankad Trophy, Cooch Behar Trophy, Vijay Merchant Trophy will cater to the young and budding talent of the country.
