Reliance Jio and Facebook together to take ‘Digital Udaan’!

Mumbai, Jul. 4: The search for millions of internet users brought together the two richest technology companies- Reliance Jio and Facebook. Mukesh Ambani’s telecom company, Reliance Jio is teaming up with Facebook to launch a digital literacy program in India. As per the Reliance official statement, “Digital Udaan” is the largest ever digital literacy program”.
 
Facebook developed the modules to ensure Digital Udaan is relevant for people for practical usage. Jio has over 300 million users, with most of them are using the internet for the first time. The program has audio-visual training in 10 regional languages.
 
Director at Reliance Jio, Akash Ambani, said, “It is a program for inclusive information, education, and entertainment, where no Indian will be left out of this digital drive. Jio envisions to take this to every town and village in India, achieving 100% digital literacy in the country.”
 
 

 
Digital Udaan initiative will engage with its users every Saturday to help them learn about JioPhone features, using various apps and internet safety, along with the use of Facebook.
 
On this initiative, VP and MD Facebook India, Ajit Mohan, said, “Facebook is an ally in this mission, and we are delighted to partner with Jio in attracting new Internet users and creating mechanisms for them to unleash the power of that access.”
