Varanasi, July 5: Clarifying stand on mob lynching incidents, Indresh Kumar, Senior RSS functionary and Patron of Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM) categorically stated that anyone involved in incidents like mob lynching should not be spared. Mob lynching is a crime and should be treated as one without applying any selective or discriminatory approach, he said, addressing a Muslim gathering here on Wednesday.

Explaining he further said that those who pelted stones at the security personnel in Kashmir, or involved in political killings in West Bengal or those shouting slogans “Bharat Tere Tukde Honge, Insha Allah…” in the JNU campus, all are involved in the same kind of crime as that of mob lynching. They should also be treated at par with those involved in mob lynching, he demanded.

Indresh Kumar was addressing a largely attended congregation of Muslims at Paradkar Smruti Bhavan here as Chief Guest. MRM National Convener Islam Abbas, Organizing Convener Girish Juyal, Sewa Pramukh Dr Rajiv Shrivastava, Mohad Azaruddin, Mahant Balakdasji Maharaj, Dr Ranjan Shrivastava, Nazneed Ansari, Thakur Raja Raees, Mohd. Ahmed, Mohd. Shajeb, and others were prominently present at the program.

Dwelling upon the roots of the Indian Muslims, he said the Indian Muslims have their roots firmly entrenched in this land called Hindustan. People professing all religions in India share the same ancestors and as such they have an emotional relationship with each other. It is now proved by science also. The people of the Indian Sub-Continent share the same DNA, he said.

They share similar ancestors, culture and motherland with the other Indian citizens. In the past, many of the Kshatriyas, Brahmins, and others converted to Islam in India due to historical and other reasons, but they did not change their culture, traditions and ancestors. Once this reality is understood it will be the end of all communal and religious strife, conflicts and tensions, he added.

Indresh Kumar further said that some Rajputs did convert to Islam but never gave up the prefix ‘Kunwar’ in their names. This indicated to the reality that the roots of Indian Muslims are firmly rooted in this land, their villages and their castes. Only their way or worship was changed but the land-property and blood remained unchanged. This reality is dawned upon us when we scan our history; he said adding that every citizen of the country must know about his ancestors to maintain an emotional relationship with each other.

With this intention, the national level campaign “Search of Roots” was launched from Benaras., Indresh Kumar said adding that some people tried to mislead the Muslims by separating them from the national mainstream. But now they will be again connected with the mainstream once they knew their roots.

Kunwar Mohammed Nasim Raza Khan was honoured for preserving historical documents. As many as 17 Muslim workers were felicitated for their contribution in voters’ awareness drive.

He said that the Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM) will mainly focus on connecting socially and educationally backward Muslims with the mainstream through education, service, goodwill and “Hubbal Watani” (i.e. patriotism and nationalism).

The congregation mainly focused the discussion on reasons and factors of backwardness of Muslims.

The congregation passed the following resolutions that included:

1. To set up family counselling centers and Khudai Khidmadgar committees in every locality.

2. MRM will prepare a report on problems of the Muslim community by registering them.

3. The backward castes of Muslims will be trained in skill development.

4. The contribution of Muslim castes will be taken note of.

5. Fostering emotional relationship between Hindus and Muslims.

6. Providing education and employment to Muslim boys.
