Ensuring transparency avoiding delay, Jammu and Kashmir approves Aadhaar linked payment for pension to beneficiaries

New Delhi, July 8: Aadhaar has played a vital role with making things quite feasible for the people with engaging in digital India. Like Digital India is running speedily in connecting the masses, the government is connecting the jewel state Jammu and Kashmir with India asserting it strongly to be an integral part of the nation.

 

In a latest development, Jammu and Kashmir government has approved Aadhaar-linked payment mode for disbursal of pension to beneficiaries under various central and state-sponsored schemes in order to ensure transparency and avoid delays. The move is aimed at ensuring transparency and avoid delays in disbursement of pension to eligible old-aged, widows and physically challenged persons.

An official spokesperson said that the decision was taken by the State Administrative Council (SAC) which met under the chairmanship of Governor Satya Pal Malik on Saturday. The SAC directed Deputy Commissioners (DC) will undertake rigorous re-scrutinisation of all the pending pension cases in their respective districts.

The spokesperson said that all eligible cases duly supported by Aadhaar numbers will be forwarded by the DCs to the respective directorates of social welfare by the end of this month. The SAC also directed the Social Welfare Department to compile, in addition, a list of all widows below 40 years of age who are not covered under the ongoing schemes.
