Considering legislative option to deal with anomalies, MHA Shah reviews issues related to final publication of NRC in Assam

New Delhi, August 20: Reviewing the issues related to final publication of National Register of Citizens in Assam, MHA Amit Shah on Tuesday said that everyone whose name did not figure in final NRC, now could represent case in front of Foreigner Tribunals.

 
This is probably a day after the Centre was slated to consider legislative options to deal with wrongful inclusions in the final list of National Register of Citizen, where Shah assured all help for the state to maintain law and order before during and after the final publication of the NRC.
 
“It was decided that in order to facilitate those excluded from NRC, arrangements will be made by state government to provide full opportunity to appeal against their non-inclusion”, Amit Shah siad while addressing the delegates present.
 
Meanwhile, also reviewing the flood effects in various states, a high-level committee, chaired by Shah approved Rs 4432.10 cr of additional central assistance to Odisha, Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh.The review meeting was attended by the CM of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Home Secretary, Chief Secretary Assam and senior officers.
