New Delhi, August 21: Tired of hiding and appearing to face the arrest after almost a day the Delhi High Court rejected his plea for anticipatory bail in the INX Media case, further calling him the kingpin of the case, P Chidambaram arrived at the Congress headquarters addressing the forum over his arrest tales. "All we wanted is a hearing. No one is running away”, said he, who probably had chosen to embrace the Mallya way.

"I was aghast that I was accused of hiding from the law. I was working alongside my lawyers whole of last night and the whole day”, he added explaining his absence from the public eye. The 73 year old said further that he was not evading the law but pursuing it, and that he has faith in the law even if it was applied by an unequal hand by the investigative agencies.

The Enforcement Directorate and the CBI officers meanwhile led their chairs outside the residence of the Congress leader, now accused, who is eventually supported by the Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Vadra in open.

"Respect for the law can mean only one thing await the Supreme Court's decision on Friday. Until Friday, let's hope the lamp of liberty will shine bright," Chidambaram said in what was seen as a message to the investigative agencies that have been striving to catch the fraudster.

Since last evening, the CBI visited his residence in Delhi twice and two lookout circulars, meant to stop a person from leaving the country, have been issued against him by the agency and the Enforcement Directorate.
