Helicopter carrying relief material in Uttarakhand crashes forcing three on board to breath last

New Delhi, August 21: Waking ahead in God’s unfortunate will, three people in a helicopter carrying relief material to the flood-affected areas in Uttarakhand died after their chopper crashed this afternoon. The crashed helicopter going from Mori to Moldi in Uttarkashi, forced Captain Lal, Co-pilot Shailesh and a local person Rajpal to breath last.


“All the three persons who were on-board the helicopter, have died in the crash. A team of 10 members has been sent to the site of the crash”, confirmed State Disaster Response Force PRO.
 
Visiting Uttarkashi and reviewing the overall situation, Uttarakhand CM Trivendra Singh Rawat announced a compensation of Rs 15 lakh for the next of kin of the persons who have lost their lives in the helicopter crash in Uttarkashi District.
 
Heavy rain and cloudbursts in the past few days have led to a flood-like situation in parts of Uttarakhand, leaving people stranded in several areas. Although 35 people have died in the state, the Tons River has been flowing above the danger level in the district following heavy rainfall in the past few days.
