New Delhi, September 10: Allowing the CBI to question former media baron Indrani Mukerjee, jailed for allegedly killing her daughter, in connection with the INX Media corruption case, a special court in Mumbai moves up to target Chidambaram's allies after his arrest.

The CBI yesterday sought the court's permission to question Indrani Mukerjee, saying they want clarity on certain financial transactions as part of the corruption case. Special CBI Judge JC Jagdale permitted the central agency to question Indrani Mukerjee inside Mumbai's Byculla prison where she is lodged under judicial custody in the murder case of her daughter Sheena Bora.

Indrani Mukerjee and her husband Peter Mukerjee, a co-accused in the murder case of her daughter, are former promoters of the INX Media Group. Indrani Mukerjee had recorded her confessional statement against Chidambaram and his son Karti following which she was made an approver in the graft case.

Earlier yesterday, Chidambaram from Tihar jail had tweetd saying that he was clueless about why only he was put behind the bars and not other officers who recommended him to grant Foreign Investment Promotion Board clearance to the group. "I have no answer", he said. Further creating a safe zone for his allies involved, he added another tweet which read, "No officer has done anything wrong. I do not want anyone to be arrested”.
