Busting attempts of terrorists to sneak in; J&K police arrests three JeM terrorists and recover arms from truck

Srinagar, September 12: Decoding every tactic, busting every attempt to snide in arms and ammunition, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have rightly worked in vigilance and complete alertness by putting culprits behind bars. In a latest, Jammu and Kashmir police Thursday recovered a huge load of arms and ammunition from a Kashmir-bound truck. Three Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists, held in the incident, are currently being questions.

 

Apparently, the truck was on its way to Srinagar and stopped by police between Kathua and Lakhanpur at Punjab-Jammu border. The arms were reportedly hidden among groceries being transferred. Five AK 47s and Rs 4.5 lakh has been seized from the vehicle. SSP Kuthua Sridhar Patil said, “Three people have been arrested, interrogation is underway, the three are affiliated to Jaish-e-Mohammad.”

Reacting on the incident, Union Minister Jitendra Singh said, “Pakistan sponsored terror continues to be up to mischief. According to SSP Kathua (Jammu & Kashmir), a truck carrying arms and ammunition has been recovered in Kathua, more details are awaited.”

 

Last week, national security adviser Ajit Doval said that a large number of weapons are being smuggled in the Kashmir Valley with an aim to disrupt peace and prevent normalcy. Over 42,000 lives have been lost due to cross border terrorism sponsored by Pakistan, he added.
