Boat overturns in Bhopal during Ganesh Visarjan forcing 11 breath last; SDRF rescue ops underway

Bhopal, September 13: In a dreadful and a terrible incident on Ganesh Visarjan in Madhya Pradesh, eleven out of twenty drowned after a boat in which people were using for Lord Ganesha's idol immersion ceremony overturned in a river in Bhopal, rescuing other six.

 
 
"Two boats were joined together to keep the entire load afloat at Khatlapura Ghat in Bhopal, but they couldn't take the weight. None of the people on the boat wore life jackets", the police officer said.
 
A magisterial inquiry has been ordered into the incident while Madhya Pradesh CM Kamal Nath has assured strict action against the guilty. The state government has also announced a compensation of Rs 4 lakh each to the kin of the deceased.
