London, September 4: Continuing the legacy of causing destruction, thousands of British Pakistanis Tuesday violently marched in London to protest against India’s move to abrogate article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. The protestors threw eggs at the Indian High Commission building (IHC) building, smashing windows and causing chaos on the streets of London.

In a tweet, the High Commission of India in London posted the image of the damage caused. It said, “Another violent protest outside the Indian High Commission in London today, 3 September 2019. Damage caused to the premises.”

The ‘Kashmir Freedom March’ was organized by a large number of British Kashmiri groups, who marched from Parliament Square past Downing street to the High Commission building. Some UK labour MPs had also joined the protest. Slogans such as ‘Stop shelling in Kashmir’, ‘end the siege’, ‘We want freedom’ etc were raised by the crowd.

On one side, situations are normal in the Kashmir valley for days now. Almost all restrictions have been lifted in over 90% of the areas in Kashmir during the day time. Attendance in schools and offices is up. And on the other side, these kind of violent protests are causing unnecessary troubles.

Previously, on Independence Day, Indians and people of Indian origin gathered outside the Indian High Commission in London to celebrate the 73rd Independence Day were abused and pelted with eggs and water bottles by Pakistan-sponsored protesters
