London's Indian High Commission releases video of Tuesday’s protest

London, September 5: On Tuesday, we saw thousands of British Pakistanis violently marched in London to protest against India’s move to abrogate article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. In this regard, the Indian High Commission has released a video of the protest. The protestors had thrown eggs at the Indian High Commission building (IHC) building, smashing windows and causing chaos on the streets of London.


 

In a tweet, the High Commission of India in London posted the image of the damage caused. It said, “Another violent protest outside the Indian High Commission in London today, 3 September 2019. Damage caused to the premises.”

The ‘Kashmir Freedom March’ was organized by a large number of British Kashmiri groups, who marched from Parliament Square past Downing street to the High Commission building. Some UK labour MPs had also joined the protest. Slogans such as ‘Stop shelling in Kashmir’, ‘end the siege’, ‘We want freedom’ etc were raised by the crowd.

 
In this regard, High Commissioner met DG(Political) FCO, inter alia about violent protest of 3 September. DG said physical damage to High Commission property was completely unacceptable. He added that the safety and security of all diplomatic missions and their staff are of upmost concern to UK.
