Ahead of Delhi Legislative Assembly elections, ECI organizes brief meeting of Observers to be deployed

New Delhi, January 15: Ahead in the Delhi Legislative Assembly Elections, the Election Commission of India organized a brief meeting for Observers to be deployed yesterday. While the polling will be held on 8th of February, the counting will be taken up on 11th of February of the next month, noted the meeting where more than 150 officers were attendees.

Addressing the Observers, Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora asked the officers to follow ECI's guidelines with full sincerity and devotion and adhere to code of ethics. He advised them to maintain close coordination with officers and to remain accessible at all times.
 
Meanwhile, Election Commissioner Ashok Lavasa also emphasized the significance of role of Observers. He advised officers to be proactive to redress complaints and ensure impartiality while discharging their duties. Information technology applications like Enabling Communication in Real-time Environment (ENCORE), is an integrated portal to be used by Election Officers for overall management of the election process.
 
With the help of this system, candidate nominations, uploading of affidavits, assigning symbol, scrutiny of candidates nominations, counting of votes and result dissemination will be utilized for efficient and faster functioning. Other Apps to facilitate QR Code reading of Photo Voter Slips would also be put in use to ensure free, fair, peaceful, inclusive, accessible, ethical and participative election.
