Lamahi, Varanasi, Jan 31: Inaugurating and dedicating the world’s first temple of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s temple here on his 123rd birth anniversary senior Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Pracharak and patron of various social organisations Indresh Kumar said that this temple will continue to inspire the people of the country to dedicate them for the service of the motherland.

Mahant Balak Dasji, Mahant of Patalpuri Muth was also present at the inauguration and dedication of this unique temple. Other dignitaries present on this occasion were Dr Rajiv Shirvastava, President of Vishal Bharat Sansthan, who conceived this idea, Virag Pachpore, National Convener, Muslim Rashtriya Manch, Sushama Pachpore, senior journalist from Nagpur, Prof R N Pathak from BHU, and others.

Addressing the gathering on this occasion Indresh Kumar said that Netaji Bose was a patriot par excellence and he was the first to form the Government of India in Exile in Singapore which was recognised by a number of nations then. Netaji put his foot on the first liberated soil of India at Port Blair and renamed the Andaman-Nicobar Islands as ‘Shahid Swaraj Dweep Samooh’.

The Forum for Awareness of National Security (FANS) of which Indresh Kumar is a patron, holds visit program to these islands in the name and style of “Shahid-Swaraj Dweep Samooh Nanan Yatra” every year in December-January. These Islands were renamed by the Azad Hind Government on 30th December 194, Indresh Kumar said.

Kashi is famous as city of temple in India and outside worlds. Those tourists who come here for religious visits can now visit and have ‘darshan’ of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose in this temple, Indresh Kumar said.

Prof Rajiv Srivastava, who is dedicated to ideals and ideology of Netaji Subhash Bose and who conceived this idea of having the temple for Bose said that this six-foot high statue of Netaji is carved out a black granite under an 11-foot high gold coated canopy. Regular puja and aarti will be performed of this statue by Khushi Raman Bharatvamshi and Randhir Kumar.

Shrivastava further said that this temple will be a source of inspiration for all people to work towards communal harmony to make India a country of Netaji’s dreams.

The temple will remain open from 7 am to 7 pm for darshan to all people.

Explaining the details of the temple Prof Shrivastava, who also manages to conduct a number of social welfare activities through his Vishal Bharat Sansthan, said , “While the statue is made of black granite, the temple stairs are red and the platform white. Red is symbol of revolution and white of peace. Without revolution, there cannot be peace. Black is symbol of power. Gold generates positive energy.”

“A visit to the temple of Netaji will awaken spirit of patriotism. If pregnant woman pays a visit to the temple and take darshan, patriotic children will be born,” Srivastava said.

“The country needs communal harmony which can come from the ideas of Netaji only. At the temple, Subhash Chandra Bose will be remembered daily, not only on his birth anniversary,” he added.

Srivastava said the temple would be expanded in future, adding that he chose Lamahi because it was well-known for its association with Munshi Premchand.
