Busting plan to attack Security Force establishment, J&K Police arrested ‘wanted’ LeT terrorist in Srinagar

Srinagar, January 7: Signifying zero tolerance over illegal terror activities, the Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested a terrorist belonging to a Pakistan based terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba from Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir. Hailing from Wahab Parray Mohalla at Hajin, the 23-year-old terrorist Nissar Ahmad Dar, was active for the last few years and is a categorised terrorist in security establishment's data base. He was in the wanted list of security forces.

Involved in eight cases, seven in 2016 and one in 2019, Nissar Ahmad Dar was detained twice under Jammu and Kashmir Public Safety Act (PSA). The first time in 2016 and then in 2017. He is an associate of Salim Parray, a top terrorist of Lashkar-e-Taiba. Giving details of his arrest, a senior police officer informed, “Dar is an associate of Salim Parray, who is top terrorist of Lashkar-e-Taiba in North Kashmir, and earlier escaped from an encounter in which a Pakistani terrorist of Lashkar outfit was killed at Kulan Ganderbal on November 12, 2019.”

Dar was planning to carry out attack on some security force establishment. He was caught alive in an operation launched on Friday night by the security establishments. The senior IPS officer asserted, “"On a specific information that a listed and wanted dreaded terrorist was hiding somewhere in Srinagar and planning an attack on some Security Force establishment. An operation was launched last night by Srinagar police along with local security forces in which the terrorist was caught alive along with arms and ammunitions.” The arrested terrorist is being interrogated by the police.

The security forces at the border are working hard towards their pledge on zero tolerance towards terrorism. Working strongly on counter terrorism activities, Indian Security Forces have been successful in stopping infiltration at the border coming from the neighbouring country and have a thorough vigilance on all activities.
