Mumbai, January 09: Granting MLA son Aaditya Thackrey the charge of Mumbai Suburban district, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackrey on Thursday appointed guardian ministers for 36 districts. "While Deputy Chief minister Ajit Pawar is slated to be guardian minister for Pune, Textile minister Aslam Sheikh will be guardian minister of Mumbai City district", the statement read.
According to it further, the criteria followed was that parties which have the maximum number of MLAs in a particular district would get the guardian ministership of that district. With this Urban development minister Eknath Shinde is to be guardian minister of Thane and Gadchiroli districts, while food and civil supplies minister Chhagan bhujbal will look after Nashik.
The Shiv Sena, the Congress and the NCP are part of the Thackeray-led government. "PWD minister Ashok Chavan will be in-charge of Nanded and Revenue minister Balasaheb Thorat of Kolhapur district", it added. Here is the complete list of Guardian Ministers of Maharashtra :

The Maharashtra government last week announced a loan waiver of up to Rs 2 lakh for farmers, with a cut off date of September 30, 2019. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray made the announcement in the Legislative Assembly on the last day of the state legislature's winter session in Nagpur.
