Cricketer Turn Producer! MS Dhoni To Produce Sci-fi Web Series Based On Mythological Book

Mumbai, October 1: Adding another feather to his cap, former Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is starting up with new innings as Dhoni's own production house 'Dhoni Entertainment' is all set to produce a mythological sci-fi thriller, which is an adaptation of an unpublished book written by a debutant author.

 

 

Dhoni had launched his banner, Dhoni Entertainment, in 2019 with a documentary named Roar Of The Lion. Directed by Kabir Khan, Roar of the Lion charted the comeback of the Chennai Super Kings, the Chennai franchise of the Indian Premier League (IPL), under skipper Dhoni, following a two-year suspension for spot-fixing.

 

 

Dhoni’s wife Sakshi revealed that the upcoming series is a "thrilling adventure". "We have acquired the rights of an unpublished book of a debutant author. We will adapt it into a web-series. It is a mythological sci-fi story that explores the journey of a mysterious Aghori and is set at a high-tech facility on a remote island," she said. She serves as the managing director of the production house.

 

She reveals their forthcoming web series saying, it is a mythological sci-fi that explores the journey of a mysterious 'Aghori'." “We would like to ensure that we execute all the aspects of this universe and bring out every character and story to the screen, with as much precision as possible. Web-series fit our purpose better than adapting it into a feature film,” she said. Meanwhile, the makers are in the process of locking the cast and location for the series.

 

She further said that she have paid more attention to the process of putting thought and idea into creative action. The joy of seeing a concept being brought to life on the screen keeps her engrossed, and they ensure the process is quality driven. She also told that when they were developing 'Roar Of The Lion', they thought it was the perfect time to venture into the entertainment industry We aim to give a platform to deserving talent to showcase their skills along with providing fresh and original content to the audience.

 

Sakshi further said that currently, the team is in the process of developing the series and the creative team will soon finalize the cast and director. She added that while cricket remains to be Dhoni's first love, he will be involved in the functioning of the production house with his wife.

 

The couple had started the banner to develop a platform that could give a chance to deserving talent to showcase their skills along with providing fresh and original content to the audience.
