More power to industrial development! TN CM lays down 7 industrial projects

Chennai, October 23: Boosting the economy and industrial development in the state, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Friday inaugurates seven industrial projects with an investment of over 1,298 crore rupees. These projects would generate 7,879 jobs in the state.

The investment agreements for projects were finalised during the second edition of Global Investors Meet. The new industries are coming up in the districts of Kancheepuram, Thiruvallur, Dindigul, Thoothukudi, Villupuram, Tirupur, Cuddalore, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, and Coimbatore.
 
 
 
They include an auto-ancillary unit by Wheels India in Tiruvallur district, mobile chargers manufacturing unit at Nokia Telecom Special Economic Zone in Sriperumbudur and are expected to generate employment for 7,879 people.
 
 
 
The Chief Minister also laid foundation stones for nine other projects worth 10,062 crore rupees. They are set to generate employment for 8,666 people. They include solar modules and cells manufacturing unit at Oragadam in Kanchipuram by Vikram Solar with an investment of 5,512 crore rupees.
 
 
 
 
Apart from it also includes companies like Adani Gas’s city gas distribution with an investment of ₹2,000 crores, Integrated Chennai Business Park of DP World at Vallur, Philips Carbon Black at Thervoy Kandigai at Thiruvallur district, the second phase of Kalpathi AGS’ Dindigul Renewable Energy Pvt Ltd at Vathalagundu in Dindigul district.
