Beijing, Oct 26 : Top diplomats from India, Bangladesh, Nepal join Durga Pooja celebrations by Indian Community in Beijing. On the occasion, the Indian Ambassador to China Vikram Misri stressed that the central message of this festival, the victory of good over evil is timeless and ever relevant.

The festival of Durga Pooja was celebrated at the Chinese capital, with traditional zeal and festivity at the Indian Embassy. The Indian Ambassador Vikram Misri addressed the gathering, which was attended by the top diplomats from Bangladesh and Nepal and said, "Durga Pooja reminds us of our shared heritage in the Indian subcontinent," while he also pointed out that the main purpose of the festival is the celebration of the victory of good over evil, which will keep on happening in times to come.
 
Odissi dance was performed by Chinese artists at the event, along with a musical performance. The music performance was given by the artists from Chinese Conservatory of Musicon a Yangqin – which is a Chinese equivalent of Indian instrument 'Santoor.'
 
The event was marked with the presence of Indian Community led by Beijing Bongs gathered from various parts of China to get enjoy the holy atmosphere of worshipping goddess Durga with traditional pooja, amid the beats of ‘Dhak’, an Indian instrument. Ambassadors of Bangladesh and Nepal in China also shared their greetings through a recorded message.
