Major General Shishir Mahajan, VSM said while providing his insights about India's Border Management that soldiers of various divisions, including the Central Industrial Security Forces (CISF), are guarding India's borders, regardless of their lives, in the face of ongoing atrocities by countries like China and Pakistan. Maj Gen Mahajan's lecture is third in the online lecture series organized by the Central Hindu Military Education Society on the occasion of the 148th birth anniversary of the founder Dharmaveer Dr. B. S. Munje.

Maj Gen Mahajan shared his insights about 'Geo Strategy and India's Border Management in the 21st Century'. Dr. Nitin Karmalkar, Vice Chancellor of Savitribai Phule Pune University chaired the session as the chief guest. Maj Gen Mahajan also virtually published the special issue of 'Rashtra Prahari' digital magazine, during the session.

He said there is 50,000 km of land border that India shares with the neighbouring countries and by using it properly we can win the battles successfully. He gave detailed information about the borders between India and neighbouring countries of China, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and also about the military forces working there.

CAPABLE OF FACING THE EVIL

Noting that islands like Andaman, Nicobar and Lakshadweep are being used for other fleets including those of our triservices, he said India is a big exporter in all respects. Therefore, it is a matter of prestige for all countries to be friends with India and this is the heartache of countries like China and Pakistan.

Along with India, China, Pakistan and South Korea are known as nuclear states. China and Pakistan have a long-standing border dispute with India. India has been responding to the border crossings from both the countries much capably.

TERRORISM IS A GROWING CONCERN
“He said "Afghanistan is a country that feeds terrorists". The country has become shelter for terrorist organizations like Al Qaeda and Taliban. Pakistani terrorists infiltrate into Indian land. There is no denying that they also get help from Syria, Israel, Palestine.”

In particular, the borders of Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, which are close to China, continue to remain disturbed. Of course, Indian armed forces defend their borders by potentially resisting all the attacks.

CHINA'S POLICY REMAINS CONSTANT

Maj Gen Mahajan said that in 1962, China claimed the adjoining territory of Aksai Chin and gained it. In 1967 and 1988, China tried to carry out similar atrocities, but Indian troops overcame their intensions unilaterally.

Due to the resistance of Indian troops at Dolam, the Chinese troops had to retreat. All are aware of the recent conflict in Galwan province. Their business of invading the border and occupying space is not new.

PAKISTANI INFILTRATION IN J&K

Things are already getting worse for the Imran Khan Govt in Pakistan, considering the internal disturbances. Besides, Pakistan prefers to carry out terrorist attacks by infiltrating into Indian land through immediate borders with Jammu and Kashmir. Terrorists have often tried to cross the border but have been thwarted by the Indian troops. India has given more priority to these issues while managing borders.
“He said, "Atomic weapons are our strong point. The Pokhran test has proved our point."
