PM Modi also released a postal stamp as a part of the celebration. During his address to the students, the Prime Minister assured that the country was on a path where nobody would be left behind or discriminated against on grounds of religion and that everyone would enjoy equal opportunities.

“He shared how the history of education associated with the Aligarh Muslim University was an integral part of India’s heritage and that he has met several proud AMU graduates during his foreign visits. He said that AMU has inspired millions to contribute towards society.”

He also put forth the political aspects of certain things and it's influence on the life of students. He said that politics is a part of the society but there are more important things in life and politics cannot be a measure for everything. He urged the people to not look at everything from a political lens and that campuses like AMU can play a vital role in developing this approach among students.

He stressed on the fact that a lot of time has been wasted on maintaining differences among the masses against the political party in power, that has eventually damaged the pace of Indian development. PM Modi, thereby, requested everyone to come together and unify for the successful implementation of Atmanirbhar Bharat.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi called AMU a ‘Mini India’ contributed by its various departments, dozens of hostels, thousands of teachers and professors. He said that the diversity that the university exhibits was not only the strength of the university but also that of the nation. He also further urged the university to not let the strength of this diversity get weakened and said that they should work together to ensure that the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat’ grows stronger day by day in the campus of AMU.

The PM said that around a century ago, the Founder-Chancellor of AMU, Begum Sultan, worked towards the creation of the modern Muslim community, and with the abolition of practices like talaq, the country has finally moved in that direction. He congratulated AMU on the enrolment of women increasing to 35% and said that his government was committed to the education and empowerment of Muslim women.

“In the same regard he said that the Swachha Bharat Abhiyan has been highly responsible for this cause since earlier the dropout rate of girls was 70 per cent because of lack of toilets. This has dropped down to merely 30 per cent remarkably after the Swachha Bharat Mission.”

PM Modi has appreciated the sense of social responsibility displayed by the University during severe times of the pandemic. He appreciated the work done by AMU of helping people to get tested for free, building isolation wards, starting plasma banks, providing beds to hospitals and helping the society during such crucial times.
