Nagpur, Dec 25: India is rising again and to make this rise fruitful for the welfare of the world we need to give up the inferiority complex and inject a new confidence among the masses to accomplish the mission of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’, said RSS Sarkaryawah Suresh alias Bhayyaji Joshi here on Friday.

He was delivering the inaugural address at the 66th National Conference of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) at Dr. Hedgewar Smriti Bhavan. Prof. Chhagan patel, newly elected National President and Nidhi Tripathi General Secretary were prominently present. ABVP workers from all over India joined this program through video conferencing.

Bhayyaji Joshi said that the time wheel is moving in upward direction and there is a need to give impetus to it. We should become an instrument to speed up this time wheel so that the transformation process gets accelerated. It is also important to understand the process of transformation and its objective and to march ahead with confidence overcoming all obstacles and challenges, he added.

Quoting Mahatma Vidura of Mahabharata, he said that the legendary character always dared to tell the truth to the power that was without any hesitation. He tried to awaken the wisdom of the rulers then as he had the courage to speak the truth. In the present scenario, this role of Vidura would be performed by the people who are supreme in a democracy. For that, it is imperative to make the masses capable of performing that task. Today, we have that opportunity and we should utilize this to awaken the masses to perform their duty, he said.

Quoting Swami Vivekananda, Joshi further said that India has a global mission to ensure welfare, peace and progress of the world community by acquiring the position of ‘Vishwa Guru’. We must have unshakable faith in our mission and objective and transmit that faith to the masses for making a collective resolve for accomplishing our mission, he added.

Fortunately, we have a galaxy of guiding luminaries like Swami Vivekananda, Rishi Aurobindo, Dr. Hedgewar, Mahatma Gandhi, Guruji Golwalkar and so on. We need to understand their ideas, thoughts and draw inspiration to fill our lives with unflinching desire to make our country great, Joshi said.

India always considered this universe as one family and wished for welfare of all beings. For this we propagated a thought of coordination. Now, we will have to work for establishing this coordination once again.

India never was an expansionist country. We spread knowledge to the world and value added the cultures wherever our forefathers went. We must be proud of this achievement and achievements of our scientists in various fields. However, our society is plagued with the feeling of inferiority about our own achievements. This inferiority complex must be done away forthwith if we were to move forward on to the path of becoming a world leader and world teacher, Joshi said. Atmanirbhar Bharat mission will be helpful in removing this inferiority complex from the people’s mind, he added.

He said that we are fortunate to have born in Independent India and at a time full of opportunities and challenges. Ours is the only nation and society that has successfully managed the Covid-19 pandemic. All other countries remained dependent on their governments while our society came forward to help the affected and serve the needy in this trying period of the pandemic, he said.

The country is marching on the path of progress leaving behind the inferiority complex and weaknesses because the leadership is confident and capable. We need to become a vehicle to accelerate this process of transformation and be part of the national reconstruction mission.

Prof Chhagan Patel, newly elected President of the ABVP expressed his thoughts on this occasion and said that the ABVP was an organization of disciplined youth whose qualities are honed up in the organization to make them responsible citizens. The strength of such youth is utilized in various constructive activities, he said.

This year’s prestigious Prof. Yashwantrao Kelkar Award was given to Manish Kumar for his contribution in the field of agriculture.

Earlier, General Secretary Nidhi Tripathi gave a brief account of ABVP’s service activities during the Covid-19 pandemic.
